Stampin’ Up! Simply Pressed Clay

Standard

I am case-ing! (To CASE: Copy And Share Everything)

I ordered the Simply Pressed clay, unfortunately it was back-ordered and I’ve been waiting (somewhat) patiently for it to arrive.

photo 2 (1)

Yesterday was the day I came home to find it sitting, waiting for me on my doorstep!!! Woohoo! And now — I can play with it!

Just add a drop of ink and knead into white clay to create any colour you like.

I wanted to show you some of the ways you can customize the clay using brads and glitter and of course the molds (which my sister has generously lent me until I order my own set) — thank you, Sis!! 😀

From the blog of a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. Please take a moment to click on the image and visit her site.

Hopefully this image will spark your own creativity when you’re using the clay — I know my creativity has been sparked 🙂

Embossed Antique Brads

This is super cool!!!!

This is one of those techniques where you think, of course! I should have thought of that! lol It wasn’t me though, it was a fellow demonstrator, Di Gibbs, who I believe originally shared this technique, and Patty’s Stamping Spot blog where I came across the pictures and directions.  I had to share the post immediately! I hope you enjoy

I hope you’ll take a moment to visit Patty’s blog at: http://www.pattystamps.typepad.com/pattys_stamping_spot/

Mother’s Day Triple Layer Card

Standard

Hello everyone 🙂 Today has been a really wonderful day.  I wanted to take a moment and share the triple layer card I made from the technique video I shared a few weeks ago.   I made this card for my mum and she loved it 😀

For convenience the card layer dimensions are 3 squares comprising of 1 of each: 2″ square; 3″ square; and 4″ square.  In addition, you’ll need 3 squares of cardstock to act as the mat between each layer of white cardstock.  Mat dimensions are: 1 of each: 2 1/8″ square; 3 1/8″ square; and 4 1/8″ square.  Finally, the card base I used for this card was 5″ squared.

The technique video for this card can be found HERE (will open in new window) and the PDF download file of the tutorial from SplitCoastStampers is available when you click triple stamping.

The focal stamp on this card lends itself to blending and watercolour (or in this example.. the illusion of watercolour! lol)  I think it turned out quite well.  The small salutation was punched with the Petite Curly Label punch, the background using the decorative Label punch.  I punched the shape down several times until it was sized just right — both available from Stampin’ Up!

Image 3

The butterfly I made for this card is “case”’d from my daughter, Shannon.  On the card she made for me, Shannon scored in 1/8″ intervals vertically across the butterfly punched, this makes the perfectly curved wings.  Shannon then attached it to another punched butterfly with a glue dot to create a beautifully dimensioned embellishment.  From there I added a little ribbon and some bling 🙂 viola!

Image 1The recipe:

  • Stamp set: Elements of Style; Builder Wheel, Travel Journal
  • Ink: Regal collection: Elegant Eggplant
  • Markers: Regal collection: Perfect Plum; Subtles collection
  • Card stock: Whisper White; Elegant Eggplant
  • Punches: Petite Curly Label; Decorative Label
  • Embellishments: 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Perfect Plum; Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Other: Blender pens
  • Adhesive: Dimensionals; SNAIL adhesive; mini glue dots

Boutiques Boxes

Another little creation I made over the weekend.

Good morning 🙂

I have the Boutique Boxes Designer Printed Kit.  It comes with 8 little boxes — perfectly sized for gift cards.  Don’t you just love little boxes??  It’s easier if I just include the picture:

Boutique Boxes Designer Printed Kit
129306 $9.95CDN

So this is the kit and it’s less than $10!  Crazy right?  It not only includes the adorable little boxes (8 of them! I mentioned that, right? lol) it also includes little note cards and a sheet of diecut shapes!  Now my personality is more of the: Do the kit exactly as outlined and don’t deviate from the instructions no matter what!  But… I’m 40 now *Gasp!* (I wrote that fast so I didn’t think about it for too long) and following the rules doesn’t have the same appeal anymore — midlife crisis?  or maybe I’m finally loosening up?  I’m getting off topic here..  Focus, fooocccus!

Ok, so I had the corners from my explosion box and decided to “wrap” one corner of the box, I added a butterfly using the butterfly punch (no kidding!)  Decorative label punch for the label and overlay.

And then I got out my Fancy Friends Kit.. and here it is (cute, “eh!”?):

Fancy Friends Kit
132319 $17.95CDN

I stamped the overlay using the ink spots (daffodil delight & old olive) that come with the kit (Fancy Friends, not Boutique Boxes) and I used the little flowers and the bling — gotta have bling!  The stamps come from a limited edition Sale-A-Bration stamp set called, Bloomin’ Marvelous.

Which reminds me.. Sale-A-Bration is ending on the 22nd!! less than 2 weeks until it’s over for another year.  Get your orders in soon so you can benefit from free stuff!!  That’s FREE stuff people.. FREE — Hmm.. have I mentioned you get FREE STUFF when you order before the 22nd (and spend at least $60) — still FREE stuff! OK — I’m hopping off my soap-box!

Have a super week!
