It’s been a little while since I made time to create in my craft room, but this week I had an opportunity to craft a little more than usual and my creative juices were flowing while I was in there.
This is a simple card on a standard A2 card base. I find simple cards the hardest to create. I always want to add something more to Bling it up! lol
However, I stuck with the “manly” theme and kept it clean. No glitter, no sparkle.. but I did break down and add 3 tiny silver brads to the corner. This card was made using the Sale-A-Bration DSP and the January limited edition stamp set, Best of Birthdays.
I’m in love with the 3″ x 3″ card base size. They’re just so cute and so versatile! Need a little note, a tag for a gift, a quick thank you card? The 3×3 size is perfect when you want to send a little love to someone special.
This card was made using the By The Tide stamp set from the 2013 spring catalogue. I used my Big Shot and alphabet die to cut the letter, added some linen thread and a designer button — and, Voila! An adorable little card 🙂
This 3×3 card is my favourite so far! There’s a old made new again technique that used a die to create the card. The die I used is from the Apothecary set.
You just fold your card stock and make sure the die comes off the edge so that the fold remains. In this case I was able to make a bee hive shape. Then I ran the card through my Big Shot using the honeycomb embossing folder (code 129378). I had an old bumble bee stamp (have no idea who the manufacturer is) that I stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with Melon Mambo then added dazzling details silver glitter to the wings and once dry, fussy cut out and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Added some bakers twine and a designer faceted button.
The envelope is hand made using the DSP brights collection, daffodil delight; and the diagonal plate on the Simply Scored tool. I used the decorative label punch (code 120907) to make the shape for the addressee. The stamp set i used to create the hearts on the card and the stamp and watermark on the envelope was from the Lovely Little Labels set (code 126262).
My daughter, Shannon has “dibbed” this card 🙂
